Kirsten's Birthday Pt2 (aka What the F#@K!)

I'm not gonna say much about Kirsten's party, except that it was held at an undisclosed place on an undisclosed date at an undisclosed time. That's about all I can say to avoid law suits, but I'm pretty sure everyone there had a fantastic time.

Kirsten's Birthday Pt1 (aka Civilised Gathering)

Hello!!!!

So it's been a while since I've had anything to post, so it feels good to back in the saddle. Giddyup!

Last Tuesday (13th March) was Kirsten's (aka K-dawg aka K-Diggity aka K-Fed) birthday, and we all got together in a nice, civilised manner to celebrate the beautiful day of her birth. Nice work Lizzie!

There was talk of Ricotta pancakes, but I unfortunately had to go to work early! so unfortunately I couldn't be part of the dietry fun.

But later on Tuesday, as the sun slipped over the horizon, and disappeared from sight, Steve and I made our way to the girls house for what we were told would be dinner @ 7pm. YUM!!!

Imagine our suprise when we arrived, to find the house in total darkness! I've never seen it like that, unless I'm snuggling down inside it for some slubber after a hard night out (generally at Fringe, don't judge). WHAT! WHERE IS EVERYONE???? DID THEY GO TO DINNER WITHOUT US? This is what was running through our heads, as we let ourselves onto the verandah, switching on lights all over the house from one conventiently located panel, and made ourselves comfortable on the couches overlooking Turkistan.

However, a quick phone call to the birthday girl informed us that Beth had locked herself out for the second time that day, and that the girls had gone to pick her up.

Stephie arrived home soon after, and everyone else arrived shortly. We all go pretty, and then headed on down to Tomato Brother's (YUM! My mouth is watering just thinking about it!!!)

We soon discovered that for $22 per person, they put on a banquet, and it was ever so grand. All that yummy food, I don't know what was my favourite.

A great time was had by all, (and our tummies), and we all headed back to the house for some super yummy scrummy chocolate cake, which was so rich, we needed to break it with ice cream, I kid you not.

What a night, great friends, great food, great chocolate cake (and do I need to mention that there was great wine?)

Beep! Beep!

So after a couple of months of will I or wont I, I finally got my scooter. It's a thing of beauty. All shiny and black.

Last Saturday I finally picked it up, and I've been going fast ever since. It's so much fun to feel the wind on my helmet, the bugs in my face, and the dirt in my eye.

Steve came with me to collect my scooter, and when I left the lot, I thought "I'll do a lap around the block, and then go back, see Steve, and then we can head home." Only I got around the block (after figuring out the horn doesn't stop the indicator, but does piss people off), only to find Steve was gone. Apparently he figured that I was gone, and wasn't coming back.

I've been riding around heaps, dropping gear off in the city for promos, visiting Jo and Steve, and the girls, and it was towards the end of the second day that the fuel gauge was approaching the red so I thought I'd fill it up. $2 later, I was out of there!!! How cheap is that!

Beep Beep!

Les Soeurs De Ciseaux

THE SCISSOR SISTERS. FINALLY!

What a great couple of months for concerts! First Coldplay, then the lovely Miss Kylie Minogue, and now the Scissor Sisters! Good, what a night. After missing their last couple of appearances in oz, I finally got to see them, and they were fantastic! The night started with the usual drinks at Huessler Tce, a little vodka, a little chambord, a lot of fun!

I went with my friend Teanne, and her friend Liz. God we had fun, there was singing, dancing, drinking and public urination, just like Spain! It was great to hear all of the Scissor Sisters fantastic tunes live, making everyone within ear shot boogie.

Afterwards I headed to Caxton street with Teanne, and then met Kirsten, Courtney, KP and her cousin at Milton station, and we headed to the Valley. On the train we learnt some interesting Spainish phrases from Lena (that's what we call KP's cousin because we can't pronounce her name). There was an older couple on the train who were laughing along with us, and when they
asked where we were heading, I said Macca's coz I was super hungry. They said "No you're not." What! Why the hell not. Needless to say, they didn't think we were so funny by the time we parted ways. I mean, seriously?!

After a couple of hours of dancing and merriment, KP and I called it a night and headed home. After lots of water, and some spaghetti on toast it was time for a little shut eye.

Faux New Years

Well, since I'm such a workaholic and was working NYE and the guys were all at Straddie, we had a fake new years on Saturday night. (Ok, not so much New Years, more any ol' excuse to get drunk). God, what a night! It was a great night, and was awesome to see little KP and Pia again. It was a fantastic night, with quiet a lot of it blurry, but I do remember using my very out of date student card (who knows why I even have it anymore) to get into the Down Under Bar.

From there we heading into the valley, where I departed from the crowd to catch up with Vanessa at Noi. It turns out my friend Nic Wong works there, and he kept the drinks coming nice and strong.

After that I headed down to the Fringe Bar. It's a pretty sad reflection on Valley clubbing that the decent place to dance without cover charge is the Fringe. Smeh!

As far as I can recall, there was lots of boogieing. Boggieing had some brief interruptions of examining Court to check that the gentleman buying her drink a drink or two. I needn't of worried, as it wouldn't be the only exam Court would be getting that night. he he he.

Due to having limited funds, I ended up drinking vodka on the rocks! What The! I think it was more due to being an alco and smashed off my face. Kirsten makes a mean French Martini. Not only was I inflicting that on my self, but telling everyone to have a sip. "It'll do you good!"

All in all, a great night on the town.

My Birthday!

Well, yesterday was my birthday and it was a fantastic day and what a blast my birthday was. I had a fantastic day, with fantastic friends and family (with a small amount of work during the day).

Actually, my birthday was the first day we started boxing fitness training at work, and god the pain. Good pain but, the kind you enjoy, the kind that lets you know you're alive, the kind where you feel your muscles growing, the kind... oh, you know what I mean.

So my birthday also acted as a house warming of sorts for Jo and Steve's new fantastic house. It's absolutely amazing, and was well worth the time they've waited for it.

We had a great night, with the cosmos and Chilian Champagne flowing freely. It was great to get all of my friends together for an occasion, especially one that focused on me, and meant I got presents.
And presents I got! Not only did a get some great things to inspire me to do some fantastic cooking (wok, cook book, voucher for an awesome Kitchen ware store), but I also scored some other fantastic presents including tea and a couple of bottles of Veuve Clicquot (one of them is ear marked for you Amy!)
A huge thank you to everyone for coming, and for the great gifts, and more importantly the great memories. It was such a special night, made special by everyone present in their own way.

The Wait was worth it... Kylie was amazing

Can I just say, OH MY GOD!

I have watched more than my fair share of Kylie concerts on DVD, but none of these could have come close to preparing me for how amazing the Showgirl was in person.

Absolutely amazing. I was standing there (Saturday 18/11) during the Locomotion thinking, 'My whole life has been building up to this moment.' It was just an amazing performance, from start to finish.

The customes, the set, the dancers, everything. They were all just spectacular, an amazing blur of movement, colour, music and excitment.

But none of it came close to topping Kylie. She delivered an flawless performance, making you love each song more than the last one. And after the show she took the time to come out on stage, and thank everyone for their support and for being so patient.

I was very hung over the day I got my tickets, over 18 months ago, and the pain of that day and the wait since was well worth it.

New Farm BBQ

What an afternoon! I'm not sure who came up with the idea about having a BBQ, but they are genius. GENUS!

Saturday afternoon Pia, Steph, Court, Kirst, Steve and I went to New Farm park, for some food and fun.

Pia and Steph wasted no time getting the barbie started, and after upgrading from the kiddie table to a grown ups table, the afternoon was off to a great start.

It was a fantastic afternoon, with lots of laughs, great food and great company.

I'm thinking we hit up the BBQ again. Yum.
